
Our Current Epidemic
11 million people die every single year from eating bad food and not eating enough good food.
This figure would be an underestimate but it is definitely the number one killer on the planet. It leaves in it's wake the deaths from smoking and lack of exercise and is more than all the deaths including accidents, guns and violence. This is most definitely our number one killer and our number one cause of disease.
Think about it. If there was a virus pandemic killing 11 million people every year don't you think there would be a massive global effort world wide to change that? We witnessed the hysteria over Covid 19 but that pales into insignificance when compared to this current world wide plague. We actually have this terrible epidemic happening right now, right in front of us and very few people are doing anything to change it.
Food is at the very heart of Lifestyle Medicine and so important for our physical and emotional health.
At CQ Good Health we are about helping people make better choices for themselves. We may not be able to change the world but our mission is to help people one-on-one, at an individual level to change their food and lifestyle choices and see the consequential improvements in their health.
We understand how challenging it can be to make those changes whilst living in a food system where it's super easy to make the wrong choices and so super hard to make the right ones. Our role is to be there with you, especially in the first four weeks as this is the crucial time to have that support in order to be able to change a lifetime of existing food eating habits.
We understand that it is not your fault, as the advertised foods are so addictive and designed to biologically hijack our brain chemistry and our metabolism.
In America today, the figures show one in two people have a chronic disease (with Australia not far behind) and that's increasing dramatically. We have 40% of children overweight and up to 70% of all people overweight and increasingly these same figures are happening around the world as our food industries export their toxic products.
Having said that, at CQ Good Health we understand that to take back our health requires more than just knowing what is going into our mouths. It's about our total lifestyle and we will go through this with you. For example we will cover crucial roles such as how exposure to toxins not just in our foods but in our environments (such as agricultural chemicals) are damaging our whole body's “ecosystem” and how we can turn that around. How exercise helps us function to the max and how most of us are not breathing correctly and the importance and critical role our microbiome has in keeping us healthy. We will also cover the importance of sleep and how to get it. Our bodies are amazing "machines" with every component playing a vital role in achieving our wellness goals. Understanding how each of these roles effects our physical and mental health is our responsibility to you.
We only get the one chance at life and if you let us we can help you take back yours and and find your path back to good health and ultimately a long and happy life.
